Kappa Alpha's service at Virginia Tech
Every year, KAs at Virginia Tech participate in a number of service projects and programs. In the fall, we help out the community by participating in Roanoke Street Cleanup. In the spring we contribute our time to the Big Event. The Big Event is a campus wide service program, where organizations and individuals at Virginia Tech get together and help out with nearly 250 service projects around Blacksburg. Year-round, the brothers of KA help out by volunteering with the Special Olympics Bowling league.
In addition to all of these service projects, KA helps to raise money for our national philanthropy, the Muscular Dystrophy Association. As a national organization, KA raises around $150,000 annually and has contributed over $1.5 million to MDA to date.
